History

A sport dates back to the 15th century after it was played by autochthonous Malays. Back so it was known as "Sepak Raga" (lit. "Kick ball") & played in the main by men & boys utilizing the circle formation. It utilized the ball manufactured of cane or even rattan. the game remained therein form for hundreds of years until the Forties while a net (known as a "Jaring" in Malay) & formal system were introduced. By this instance, a game was too existence played inside Thailand in which it was referred to as "Takraw". Variations of the game spread throughout Asia. In a Philippines the sport was known as "Sipa", around Burma it was dubbed "Ching loong", inside Laos "Kator" & around Indonesia "Rago".

Teams

The match is played between deuce teams, from each one by having triplet players. The trinity streaming video player team is too known as the "Regu".

Court

Ball

Traditionally hand-woven, the Takraw ball is made of rattan stems or very hard plastic. A ball weighs approximately 250 grams.

Game play

Two teams compete for higher scores by spiking a ball into the opponents court. Each team gets three chances to kick, knee, shoulder or head the ball back to the opposing team. Like in Volleyball there are passes, sets and spikes — but the strokes must be made soccer style: no hands or arms allowed.
